SUMARIE Couture Swimwear - Behind the scenes!

As some of you may or may not know for the last 3 months I have been lucky enough to complete an internship with fashion brand SUMARIE Couture Swimwear working on their blog platform re-design and spring issue which has been really exciting!

So this week in dedication to the blog launch on the 27th I'm going to share some exclusive behind the scenes pics of the SUMARIE product shoot and my walk through on set!..

With a soulful funky jazz playing in the background of the studio and all participates getting limbered up for the first shoot on set the vibe was pretty relaxed with inspirational sparks flying from all corners of the space.

While assisting the shoot and overlooking the art direction of our stunning model andrea the first thing that really hit me about the SUMARIE Classic Collection when seeing it all work together in situe was the sheer versatility of all the products, with mix and match bikinis being such a lusted item every year this collection caters to so many different looks for a multitude of different styles.

The second thing was definitely the super maritime colour scheme and classic cuts on each of the swimsuits, all oozing punchy sex appeal. With the history of swimwear starting back in the 60's where moulds of women covered head to toe were being broken, the SUMARIE Classic Collection echos this ground breaking era with high wasted, tie side and halter necks alongside the key coral and navy shades to flatter all skin tones and toothpaste stripe adorned bows and other fastenings to again add to the whole interchangeability of the products.

My last thought on shoot was looking at the couture industry as a whole and how SUMARIE fits into this. As a consumer when looking at a couture product, on top of looking for its wearability factors including interchangeability and functionality, and its overall image qualities with making the best out of your skin tone, how it fits into your style, if it fits into current fashion styles and overall whether it makes you feel sexy (all major qualities Sumarie grasps), the thing that makes something truly couture is the quality.

From physically being in the same showroom as The Classic Collection itself studying the products first hand the quality of the material hits you like a tidal wave, made from top secret body sculpting material, sun protected dyes and water durability where the material doesn't loose shape either in or out of the water, you can instantly tell this is going to be something that will last more than just one summer unlike most bikinis not only from its classic style but from the product quality.

The shoot was fun and fast moving and once all art direction was completed and my inspirational day dreaming was over we eventually moved into creating our first 'Where the Life is' youtube video about the SS13 monochrome trend and a brief run through of the Classic Collection with designer Marie Su. Although it took me a few attempts for me shoot certain parts of the video.. it was great to finally start off the new section to our blog.

So to end a successful shoot and day overall The Classic Collection available soon at sumarie.com will always be a concrete trend, flattering for all styles and skin types, interchangeable, high quality and overall..

Truly Timeless.
